Dr Eileen Doyle
Dr Eileen Doyle has had an exceptional career in large corporations, which has spanned more than three decades. She has a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics. In 1993 she was Australia's first Fulbright Scholar in Business Management, attending the Columbia University in New York.
She had an executive career in the steel and building materials industries and she is now a professional company director. She was Chairman of Port Waratah Coal Services from 1998 until 2009 and stepped down as Deputy Chairman of CSIRO in 2016 after 10 years in the Board. Her present roles include Director of Boral, GPT Group and Oil Search.
She has also had a long history of being a business angel and working with inventors and small businesses to introduce and grow their products. From her varied experience and coaching of smaller businesses, she has written a book called Back to Business Basics. The book takes the disciplined approach of larger businesses and provides six useful toolkits for small to medium businesses. She is a Conjoint Professor in the Newcastle Business School, at the University of Newcastle and has recently taken on the Women in Master of Business Administration (WiMBA) patron role, to provide MBA students the leadership and strategic perspective to redress gender equity and move female employees into senior management and executive positions.
